City Talk 25

May 14th, 2008 · 17 Comments

YAY!!!!!!! I can’t believe City Talk has actually reached #25! This is a HUGE milestone for me…when I first joined Bebin around this time last year (!!!) I was constantly experimenting with different types of shows and formats and really trying to find that one perfect show that not only fit me but viewers would enjoy watching! I came up with a lot of bad ideas and even put together quite a few shows that sounded good on paper and in my head, but once we actually shot it, it really sucked (those shows never aired, so I spared you the boredom and myself the embarrassment)! Finally, thank God, City Talk (that had already existed before me) somehow landed on my lap and I was able to breathe life into it again while giving it my own/different touch and alas, it is now my baby! :) So here’s to another 25 more!!! Cheers! xoxo, Ladan

Oh yeah, the scariest and craziest thing I’ve probably ever done is going to Brazil with one of my girlfriends (just the 2 of us!) and staying in the most dangerous non-tourist area (we didn’t know that when we booked our hotel!)…and to top it off–not only going horseback riding in Brazil’s rainforest (just me, her and a tour guide), but riding a crazy horse that kept insisting on standing on it’s hind legs (despite my screams for help, the tour guide did not care to help at all)!!  If I fell, my head would have landed on rocks…I would have died in the middle of a jungle…surrounded by druglords with big machine guns!!!!    Yeah, I would say that is by far the most danger I’ve put myself in….your turn!

    Hi Ladan, Great job again.
I believe that lady in the picture is Sharon Stone, remember the “Basic Instinct”, or she looks a lot like Sharon Stone.
The craziest thing I have done so far would be my first solo flight in a Cessna 172. That was 2 weeks ago and to this day the most daring thing I have done.
Thank you for 25 wonderful shows Ladan.
    Keep up the good work.

the most dangerous thing….mhh…i don`t know if it is the MOST dangerous thing I have ever done…but it is something I remember…

Last year we were in egypt..and i wanted to learn windsurfing…
I never done this before…and I had an irresponisble teacher…when I was maybe in the middle of the red sea..my teacher left me alone and surfs back…although it was really windy and I nearly dropped in the water…the water was not a problem..
but when I look down…there was a lot of sea urchins…and maybe sharps!?!? I don`t know..but the sea urchins were really scary…and I never could fight against the big waves…

this is something i can remember…but maybe before eg. 10-15 years when i was 2-7 years old..i have done more dangerous things…i just couldn`t remember… :D

    Hi LaLa,

Great show once again and a milestone for City Talk and it’s viewers, we love the show ;) . Thanks for the “bloopers”, I was amazed how you managed to throw the bowling ball that far!!!

So far we have reached episode 25 and counting… but what special have you planned for City Talk 50? Does it fall, just by chance, in the same week as your wedding?? ;))

As next week’s (serious) profile you should mention Alia Sabur, the world’s youngest professor, which I‘ve written about in Bebin-Forum!!
Check out her website @ http://www.aliasabur.com/
And an interview with her done by NBC http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24273418/
I do believe she’s Iranian-American, perhaps you even one day could interview her!!

    Great show Ladan.
No make up and covering her hair, Sharon still looks great. Where did you find that photo from anyway? You cheeky girl xoxox
I can’t wait to see some photos from your wedding now, you will make a beautiful bride.
