Helloooooo! So, Norouz is about 1 week away….is everyone prepared??? I haven’t set up my Haft-Seen yet, but on Monday night I did get 4 cute golfishies for free at the Persian market that just opened up by my house! Tuesday morning I woke up to find one little fishie lifelessly floating and later on that afternoon another passed away! Then I woke up Wednesday morning to another dead fish and a few hours later my last free fish gave up on life as well! Moral of the story: Nothing in life is really ever free...(were the fish defected???) There’s probably a reason why the Persian market were giving the fish away, right? Well, that’s my sad story…but on a brighter note, Happy Haft-Seen Preparations!!!! xoxo, Ladan

You see the problem here is that fish, gold or otherwise, need to live in water, you can’t expect them not to.

Hi and thank you again for your informative programs really appreciate the work. I wanna share some Goldfish tips since this is norooz and pretty much appealing
.
The unfortunate fact is many of us buy these poor lil animals and treat them the worst possible way. Isolating them in such small area with no food and no air! and neglecting the fact that fish after all is an organic being which would need food and air to survive.
I have kept all my goldfishes since lastyear and they’ve kinda grown a quarter inch and are pretty healthy and active now. The secret is :
1) To keep them in a tank which has an air pump, not in a bowl. The oxygen in bowls run out fast that’s why they come onto the surface to breath. One can’t offered the time to change their water everyday, besides the chlorine in the new occuping water has been told that is harmful and needs to stay idle for 24 hrs. (Gotta note that although by using some dissolvers the chlorine problem can be fixed but the lack of oxygen still remains which in fact the major problem”
2) Get a special goldfish food for them you can buy one from any major retail stores e.g. walmart ect … , It won’t cost you much and it will be enough to supply them for years.
It’s jus an inhuman thing to starve any sort of living being and besides their presence adds life to our homes so it’s completely worth it.
P.S Buying a 10+ gallon aquarium is in my to do list would appreciate any tips in regard.
Sa’le no ham pisha’pish moba’rak, be omide movafaghiyatha’ye pa’yda’r va peyvaste :).
