Quiet in the Back, Class is in Session! ![]()
I’m your new mathematics instructor Samira and this is your Deriving School. Your schedule for this semester is a very rigorous one which will tease your brain. All that is required to pass this class is your participation. You can participate in the weekly brain teaser either through this blog, but if you really want to pass this class with flying colors, you really need to submit your answers as a vPod. It’s easy, all you need is a webcam and your solution. Next upload it to bebin.tv, and you’ll get your A+.
To check out the problem of this week and join my new class, just visit www.bebin.tv and look for Samira’s Deriving School!

way too easy; less than a minute to find the answer.
better is a 10 digit number. and of course the answer to your particular problem as mentioned above is 42101000.

Amir,
what’s the difference between the answer of 8 digits with 10 digits?!!! 6210001000 - if you write the answers you’ll see all follow the same pattern. so it doesn’t matter if you even change it to thirteen digits. After thirteen digits you may use hexadecimal digits to have more digits, A210…..
the question wasn’t tough but wasn’t that easy neither.

I want to answer Samira’s Math. question. Here it is:
42101000

Looks like 42101000 is the right answer. So I’ll say 42101000 too hahahah.

1- Sum of digits of the number is always equal to the number of its digits.
2- The digits except the first (most left) one can only be 0, 1, or 2.
3- There is no such number with 1,2,3, and 6 digits.
4- If the number of digits is less than 6, the first digit is the number of digits minus 3:
>> 4-digit: 1210
>> 5-digit: 21200
5- If the number of digits is more than 6, the first digit is the number of digits minus 4. The second and 3rd digits are always 2 and 1 respectively:
>> 7-digit: 3211000
>> 8-digit: 42101000
and so on.
Nice problem, Thanks.

18 Mike // Sep 19, 2007 at 6:58 pm
Hi Siavash,
Thank you for watching the show 3 times…. judging from the comments… people actually took the time to take part in the program… so…the point… it is a fun and engaging program… at least we hoped it would be, and it seems that it is….
but again, thank you for watching it 3 times…

Why are you acting like i’m stupid? “thank you for watching it 3 times”.
who the hell are you? i’m not asking you what you think, could someone from Bebin give me an answer….
21 Mike // Sep 22, 2007 at 12:42 am
Siavash Jan… No one is acting like you are stupid… I merely thank you for watching the show 3 times, because that’s what you said you did.
And I do work at Bebin, so you have already received your answer, if you have any other questions that I didn’t already address in my first post then let me know, maybe I misunderstood. You’re question was what was the point of the show…and I addressed that in my first reply.
There was no pun intended…and no one at Bebin.tv thinks you’re stupid…
Hope this cleared up any confusion
