    Hey!
The word you mentioned “chosse-fil” had been “cho-sefid” because popcorn is white. After a while it has been changed to chosse-fil in colloquial language.
Not a bad idea to point it out in Mel Talk #006.
    Best,
    Amir

Thanks guys for your comments, I didn’t know popcorn used to be called cho-sephid, thats so interesting, I’m thinking word of the week is becoming a popular topic :) You guys have any ideas for new hotties?

  • 9 Layla // Jul 1, 2007 at 11:31 pm

Funny show,,, Babak is such a idiot trying to get in front of the camera,, next time you should kick his ass.

PS. ESTEEVE I told her last week that she should use kharboze, and she did,,, So you should pick another word, what about zanzalil??

    Girl power.

  • 10 Stephani // Jul 2, 2007 at 9:49 am

    Great show Mel!

Come on guys, don’t hate on Babak! He’s a ’setareh’, he can’t help it! He is drawn to the camera.

I’d vote zanzalil for word of the week. It’s funny! How about Christian Bale for hottie of the week?

I like the way you present your show.
It is funny and spontaneous , and not stiff.
Like this you sound more friendly.
I also like Bebin Investigating Persian People in USA.
    Great show.
    Good luck Mel.

    Hey Melly! It’s me Tiam.
Listen, I noticed that the “early” pic from Harrison Ford was from the “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” movie.

That was filmed in 1984, but on your show, it said 1989.

Another thing that bugged me was that you actually chose a pic from that film…why??? Temple of Doom was a sequel…you can’t compare a pic of Harrison Ford sequel film to the fourth film.

The correct way of doing this would’ve been If you compared the old pic to “Raiders of the Lost Ark” (1981) which was the first Indiana Jones film with Harrison Ford

    What the hell!!!

  • 14 Melissa // Jul 4, 2007 at 10:16 am

I am very sorry Tiam about the picture, it was from the BBC, so complain to them, I guess I am not a true Indiana Jones fan like yourself. I will do better for you next time.

  • 15 Raha // Jul 5, 2007 at 4:56 pm

I just have to say that I also noticed the facts that Tiam just pointed out…

    Zende bad film shenas,

  • 16 tiam // Jul 5, 2007 at 7:50 pm

    Hey Raha….?

arent you supposed to be dead?

  • 17 Pouyan // Jul 5, 2007 at 8:39 pm

You are doing a great job !!

  • 19 shahram // Jul 6, 2007 at 4:49 pm

    loghate hafte..Mola loghati = Tiam

  • 20 tiam // Jul 6, 2007 at 6:38 pm

    Shahram?

    What’s Mola Loghati?

  • 21 shahram // Jul 7, 2007 at 1:30 am

Mola Loghati is: The Person whom picks up other peoples small mistakes
And confront them with these Mistakes.
As I remember in Persian Culture, confronting someone with his/Her mistake in front of public is considered very impolite.
I don’t know why and when we started to use such expression but
I think it had to do with Maktabkhane.
Long ago we had Maktabkhane and no schools.
and our teachers were actually molas.

Do you have any knowledge of Iranian politics? You try to mock the gas rationing by claiming Iran is one of the largest producers of gas?

    http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/asection/la-fg-rationing28jun28,1,2168798,full.story?coll=la-news-a_section

“Most independent experts say reducing and eventually eliminating the fuel subsidy is a healthy move for Iran, which has limited cash reserves and major pollution problems. ”

“The International Monetary Fund has been a huge proponent of reducing such subsidies, which it says increase public spending without any visible public good. Some economists say Iran’s inefficient and exorbitant fuel consumption saps more than 7% annually from the nation’s gross domestic product.”

  • 23 Melissa // Jul 12, 2007 at 7:24 pm

To the last comment- I never said anything about Iran’s Gas, I was talking about oil, maybe you should watch my program again:)

  • 24 Siamak // Jul 17, 2007 at 12:07 pm

    Oh God!!!
Melissa joon, I think some of your viewers are taking your FUN show too seriously. maybe you should have a disclaimer saying “if you find something you dont like about my show and feel compelled to say something, you have missed the whole point of this show. please find something better to do”. what do u think cho-se-feel? lol ;)
